A Beginning

Every story has a beginning. Every person, every thing has to start somewhere. It can be the first chapter of a novel, opening credits to a film, the first note of a symphony, the birth of a child, or the spoken word of a Creator. I'm sure we could go on for several minutes brainstorming different beginnings.

My beginning starts with my parents falling in love. If not for my mom and dad, I would not be here, so I have to start with them. My parents met and fell in love through a singles small group in San Jose, CA. This singles group soon became a young married's group as the members began to pair off and get married. My dad's job soon brought the pair to the cold, desolate land of Fort Collins, Colorado - at least that's how my mom tells the story of their first winter here. Shortly thereafter, it was time to start a family, but that was a wish that became difficult. After struggling for some time, God gave my parents a miracle baby - me.

My name is Stephanie Wickham. I grew up an only child in the wonderful town of Fort Collins, which is not so cold and desolate as my mom believed when they first moved here. We have been voted best place to live, and happiest place to live by different experts over the last few years, and I have to say that I am just as happy to live here. I graduated high school in 2010, and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology last month. In December of 2012, I married the love of my life and high school sweetheart, Aaron. (Now, I'm sure some of you are getting the impression that I have not stepped two feet out my back yard and should have gotten out of my little world before staying in the same town and marrying young. That is quite the contrary as to what my life was like, but you will have to keep reading to find out all my adventures.)

This blog is meant to be a collection of life experiences, thoughts, and ideas that I wish to share with the world. This is what happens in the middle of the story, and I believe I'm well on my way to a "happily ever after."

  1. I love the way you introduced yourself! You are beautiful both inside and out. I hope you will keep writing, because I want to get to know my "adult" daughter so much better.
